POSITION SUMMARY:

 

 

All servers must be able to work in a fun, fast paced environment, while anticipating and exceeding the needs of our guests. Work with management and support staff to maintain guest service efficiency and ensuring guest hospitality and satisfaction. To be successful in this position, an individual needs to have knowledge of all aspects of the Upstream as well as beer, wine, food, including pairing, presentations, and descriptions of all of these. All servers must go through an extensive training program, including hosting, bussing, bartending, food running, and some food expedition.

 

TASKS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

 

• Obtains assigned job duties for the day prior to start of shift

• Greets guests and presents them with menus wine lists and specials and any menu changes necessary, also makes suggestions and answers questions regarding food, beverages, and service.

• Takes food and beverage orders from guests (either written or memorized), and relays orders to kitchen and bar staff as appropriate

• Processes guests orders to ensure all items are prepared properly and in a timely manner. Communicates with members of management, hosts, bussers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure guest satisfaction with food and service.

• Ensures proper presentation prior to delivering serving courses from the kitchen and service areas.

• Proper presentation, opening procedures, as well as pouring and servicing of wine.

• Ensures that guests are satisfied with food and service, and adheres to any additional requests.

• Totals guest’s checks, and accepts payments in an organized fashion.

• May assist with other areas of restaurant including hosting, bussing, and expediting.

• Duties will include opening, closing, running sidework, and all other duties as assigned by management.
